During the summer in the Bregaglia Valley, there is sunshine from early morning till late evening due to the fact that the valley runs from north-east to south-west. In the winter the situation is reversed: the valley floor remains in the shade, with Bondo for a period as long as three months. The campsite is open from 1^st May to 30^th October. Towards the beginning of June the village is surrounded by meadows with a wide variety of flowers. Bondo is situated at 780 m above sea level, therefore it benefits from a climate and vegetation typical of the Southern Alps. In the neighbourhood there are chestnut tree woods and near the houses, grapevines and fig trees grow.
